Bismarck Global Neighbors was founded in 2015 by a group of volunteers who worked together, sharing their time, resources, and experience, to help partner New Americans with local mentors. That volunteer team turned into a formal board of directors as Global Neighbors became registered with the state, and then, later, a 501(c)3 tax-exempt non-profit with the IRS.

We are proud to be a board-directed organization. Having a strong board made up of former members, foreign-born leaders, and well-connected community advocates keeps us grounded in this work and close to the people we care about.
